How two dogs gave new hope

When the worst fears became reality, hope came on four paws

It began with a diagnosis that many people fear: A malignant tumor – already spread. For my husband and our family, it was as if the world had come to a standstill. The joy of life disappeared. Hope too.

Then came Beppo – a young boxer, lively and lively. He brought chaos, laughter and a new sense of purpose. My husband had a reason to get up again. Beppo was more than a dog. He was light in dark times.

But then Beppo also fell ill

Just a few months later, a new diagnosis was made: lymphatic cancer. Beppo lost an eye, his skin changed and many lumps were discovered. The vet was honest: there was no cure.

But she listened to us. She sensed how important Beppo was. And she acted. She made contact with the Helping Paws.

Then came Enjoy

A two-year-old Labrador – trained as an assistance dog. He was a perfect fit for us. And hope moved in with us again.

Enjoy helps in everyday life – picks things up, brings the emergency kit, finds a bench to rest on or gets help when needed. But the most important thing: he is simply there. Always.

“Enjoy accompanies us every step of the way. And each of these steps feels like life again.”
