An assistance dog for two special people
So that they can participate in life again
Hello dear supporters,
I am Halvar, a great male Labrador, and today I am addressing you with an important request, because I have a special mission:
I am supposed to help my two people, Swea and her brother, to take part in life again.
Who am I?
I am a future assistance dog who is being specially trained to support people with autism. My humans say that I have already improved their lives and I hope that with your help I can do even more.
Why am I so important?
Swea lives on the autism spectrum and with a mental disability that severely restricts her in everyday life. A lot has improved since I came into her life. Swea used to have to leave school because of bullying and fear of strangers. Now she dares to go into stores with me again and even goes for a walk with her mom and me every day. Unfortunately, we are often rejected, but with your support we could change that. With my vest as a trained Asisstenz dog next to her, people would understand that Swea is different and refrain from looking at her and making comments.
Her brother has Asperger’s autism and also faces major challenges in everyday life. He was also bullied at school and could therefore only learn from home. But since I’ve been with them, he has more zest for life again and dares to go out with me.
What I need
In order to be able to help Swea and her brother even better, I need special education and training with the “Helfende Pfoten”. However, this training is very expensive, and as our human mom is a single parent, our financial resources are limited. Unfortunately, the health insurance companies do not finance my training, even though I am a recognized aid after my examination.
Health insurance companies do not cover the cost of an autism dog, so we rely on the generosity of people like you.
