Pfoten-Paul on the importance of socializing assistance dog puppies and kittens 🐾
“Hello, dear animal lovers! It’s your Paw-Paul here again! Today I would like to tell you something very important: the socialization of us assistance dog puppies and kittens. 🌟 When we are still very young, it is crucial that we get to know the world around us. Socialization means that we experience different environments, sounds, people and other animals. Why is this so important? Well, there are many reasons:
- “Familiarity with the environment”: If we learn what it looks like outside at an early age, we feel safer and more at ease. Whether in the park, at the supermarket or in a café – we need to know how to behave.
- “Behavioural training”: In the socialization phase, we learn how to behave in different situations. This helps us to go through everyday life with confidence and without stress.
- “Dealing with different people and animals”: We meet lots of people who look and behave differently. We also meet other animals. This helps us to be respectful and friendly.
- “Reducing anxiety”: Good socialization helps us to reduce anxiety and uncertainty. If we are used to different environments, we are better able to deal with new challenges.
- “Preparation for our tasks“: As assistance dogs, it is important that we can remain calm even in stressful situations. Good socialization makes us reliable helpers for people with special needs.
